La danza Folklorica Mexicana es una de las manifestaciones más bellas del pueblo Mexicano, su origen se remonta a los tiempos Mesoamericanos. Las primeras danzas originalmente fueron rituales dirigidas a los Mayas y Aztecas. Los bailes folclóricos mestizos se crearon después de la conquista de los Españoles, en donde las influencias de los países Occidentales crean una mezcla de valores que nos identifican; encontrando en los bailes una verdadera forma de compartir con otras culturas nuestras raíces y tradiciones Mexicanas. Cada región y estado de la república Mexicana por medio de la danza folclórica refleja nuestra herencia. La danza folclórica académica no sólo trata de transmitir nuestra riqueza cultural sino también tiene una función social que es el enseñar por medio de la disciplina y la expresión corporal (técnica de la danza) las razones, las alegrías y los motivos para la creación de estás danzas.
The Mexican folklore dance is one of the most beautiful expressions of the Mexican culture with origins dating back to the Mesoamerican era. The first dances were originally rituals directed to the Mayas and Aztecs. Later on the mestizo folk dances were created, after the Spanish conquest, bringing Eastern influence and a mixture of values to Mexico allowing a genuine way of sharing the Mexican roots and traditions. Each region and state of the Mexican republic reflects this heritage through their unique folklore dances. Academic Mexican dance studies focus not only on transmitting Mexico's cultural richness through its performances but also have the social function to teach, through its discipline and corporal expression (dance techniques) the meaning, the joy and the cultural background behind the creation of each of its dances.
